Description

Dr. Prince A. Jackson served as the seventh president of Savannah State College from 1971 to 1978. He was the second alumnus to become president of Savannah State College. At the time of his appointment, Dr. Jackson served as Chairperson of the Division of Natural Sciences and Director of the Institutional Self Study, which resulted in reaccreditation of the College by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in December, 1971. During that same year the College was accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The three engineering technology programs--- civil, electronics, and mechanical --- were accredited by the Engineer’s Council for Professional Development in 1973.
